Grand UK launches upmarket brand
Grand UK Holidays is introducing an upmarket coach brand for 2012 after seeing growing demand for luxury escorted tours.
Grand UK Gold will offer state-of-the-art coaches, accommodation in top hotels, and special ‘extras’ such as a welcome reception and a commemorative photograph.
Grand UK’s parent firm, The UK Holiday Group, has invested in new ‘Gold’ coaches with reclining leather seats, extra legroom, individual air conditioning and onboard librarys.
Grand UK sales director Harold Burke said: “We have seen increased bookings over recent years for our tours which feature upmarket accommodation so we are confident this new brand will cater for that growing demand – and attract new customers who may not have considered a coach holiday before.”
The 20 tours in the Gold selection include a new ‘Sussex Explorer’ tour, which offers the chance to visit Arundel Castle, and a new holiday to see the once-in-a-decade Floriade 2012 horticultural exhibition in Holland.
Meanwhile, Grand UK Hotels has acquired its 12th hotel – the 56-room Cliffdene Hotel on Newquay’s seafront.
The acquisition follows last year’s purchase of Daunceys Hotel in Weston-super-Mare and the Nelson Hotel in Great Yarmouth.
A spokeswoman said further developments are in the pipeline.
