H.I.S announces one-off ‘Sakura’ cherry blossom tour for 2009
Almost as transient as Japan’s famous cherry blossom season, Travel Japan by H.I.S. is offering a rare opportunity to sample this keystone of Japanese culture first-hand with just one departure of its exclusive, original ‘Sakura’ (cherry blossom) tour in 2009.
Scheduled to depart from Tokyo on 28 March and limited to just 25 people, the 14-day luxury ‘Sakura’ tour has been structured to fully immerse participants in the country’s unique culture with a comfortably paced itinerary designed to include many of the sights that so differentiate Japan from other destinations.
These include a full-day tour of historical Nikko with visits to the Kegion waterfall and Lake Chuzenji , Mount Fuji, Lake Kawaguchi , Takayama and Matsumoto Castle , a full-day walking tour of Kanazawa , travel by bullet train to Hiroshima and Kyoto.
Cultural activities en route include noodle making at Hirayu Ootaki, a tea ceremony at Kyoto’s Todaiji Temple and the opportunity to don a kimono for dinner at a traditional restaurant complete with a ‘Maiko’ dance and music performance.
The program also includes three dedicated cruise components – a Sumida River cruise on Tokyo ’s waterways, Lake Ashi near Mount Fuji and a farewell dinner on board a traditional Yakatabune dinner cruise on the last day of the program.
Prices for the 14-day program start from AUD5999.00 per person twin share inclusive of all accommodation in four-star hotels, meals as per itinerary, all sightseeing, English-speaking guides and transportation.
