Hainan Airlines will launch new nonstop flights from Los Angeles to Chengdu and Chongqing next month.
Service to Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province, begins on March 16, followed by Chongqing on March 22.
Both routes will operate initially twice a week with evening departures from LAX for early morning arrival in China.
It adds to Hainan’s existing route from LAX to Changsha which began early last year.
"Hainan Airlines is proud to bring our award-winning service and elite experience to two new Chinese destinations that fit well with LAX’s position as a major gateway to Asia," Wei Hou, Hainan Airlines vice president said.
"The North American market is continuing to grow, and Hainan is making a long-term commitment to the region, making it easier for our customers in China and the US to enjoy Hainan’s premier quality."
China Eastern Airlines and Sichuan Airlines both ply the LA-Chengdu route but Hainan faces no other current competition for direct flights to Chongqing.
Both routes will be operated by Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.
