Houston and Berlin added to convention’s “BestCitiesâ€
Houston, Texas and Berlin, Germany, are joining BestCities, a global alliance of convention and visitor’s bureaus that meet a high level of service criteria for international meeting planners.
The two have been added to cities that already include Cape Town, Copenhagen, Dubai, Edinburgh, Melbourne, San Juan, Singapore, and Vancouver.
Gary Grimmer, CEO of Gaining Edge, said the cities are proven international meeting destinations.
“They ably demonstrate the attributes to meet the strict BestCities criteria for membership, which includes but is not limited to state-of-the-art convention facilities, a minimum 10,000 hotel rooms, safe public transportation and excellent air access,” he said.
One of the cities previously named “best,” San Juan, announced a new interactive web site dedicated to meetings and conventions.
“MeetSanJuan.com offers in-depth information on accommodations, meeting venues and other information to help organizers plan and host a conference, convention or exhibition in Puerto Rico’s capital city of San Juan, enhancing San Juan’s offerings on meetpuertorico.com, the Island’s official website portal for meetings and conventions,” says a news release.
