Over a third of Brits aged over 30 regret not going on an 18-30s style holiday, according to a poll.

According to the survey of 1,083 over 30s by independent agent www.sunshine.co.uk, 65% of those who admitted they had regrets felt they had ‘missed out’ on their chance to go on that type of holiday.

Of those who had been on an 18-30s style holiday in the past, 21% said they hadn’t enjoyed it.

Some 44% of those who had been away on an 18-30s style trip abroad said they had a holiday romance whilst there.

The respondents were then asked to estimate how many holidays they had been on in their lifetime so far.

The average number stated by the people that took part was 21 holidays, with the average frequency being one holiday every two years.

When asked ‘Have you ever returned to the same holiday resort more than once?’ 91% of the respondents said ‘yes.’

When asked why this was the case, 52% stated that the ‘familiarity’ was what drew them back, whilst 24% claimed it was because of ‘habit.’

Spain was found to be the most frequently visited country, followed by France, Portugal and Greece.
