Hyatt Hotels offers free Covid tests in Latin America
Hyatt Hotels is responding to the new testing rules required for all US-bound flights by offering free Covid tests.
It is now offering free tests for guests traveling to the US at 19 of its hotels and resorts in Mexico, the Caribbean and South America.
Hyatt claims to be first major global hotel chain to offer free testing across multiple countries for guests.
Free testing is offered for up to two guests per room for stays until 31 May and depends on the length of stay.
It includes resorts in Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Aruba, Mexico and Brazil.
All US-bound travelers, including US citizens, ages 2 and older must get proof of a negative Covid test taken within 72 hours of their flight departure.
Passengers without proof will be denied boarding.
Hyatt also extended its Travel Delay Rate for guests who are unable to travel due to delays in getting test results, or getting a positive test result during the stay.
The special rate is discounted by up to 50% off and 30% on food and beverages.
"Our new complimentary Covid-19 testing and Travel Delay Rate provide travelers with added confidence, peace of mind and convenience when staying at or considering travel to Hyatt properties in Latin America," said Mark Vondrasek, Hyatt Chief Commercial Officer.
