If Only has teamed up with the Sydney Marathon and Destination NSW to launch Escape the Ordinary in Sydney and New South Wales – Sydney Marathon + Wellness Retreats.

This new campaign is a unique one combining the region’s tourism attractions and the excitement of the 2024 Sydney Marathon.

The ‘Escape the Ordinary’ campaign will have a strong focus on wellness experiences in Sydney and New South Wales and will include If Only’s handpicked wellness retreats in addition to exclusive Sydney Marathon packages.

One example is the 11-night Sydney Marathon and Wellness Escape, priced at £4,879pp.

This features Sydney and sleepy coastal towns as well rugged Blue Mountains and back to Byron Bay while staying in five-star hotels with upscale wellness offerings.

Sydney Marathon presented by ASICS takes place on 15 September 2024 and is considered one of the world’s most photogenic marathons.

Participants can take in iconic Sydney sights, including running across the Sydney Harbour Bridge, before finishing in front of the steps of the Sydney Opera House.

Runners that cross the finish line in 2024 will be guaranteed a place in the Sydney Marathon once it becomes a World Marathon Major (guaranteed for three years).

For those travelling alongside marathon runners, there are also a number of shorter distance events to take part in.

There is also a full programme of roadside entertainment around the course.

The campaign will have a strong social media presence, trade adverts, email campaigns and blogs.

It includes a wellness focused travel agent incentive, with the chance to win a Fitbit.

To be in with a chance of winning, travel agents need to make a booking to New South Wales which includes the Sydney Marathon during the campaign period through 30 April 2024.
