IndiGo offers female flyers option to select seats next to other women
India’s biggest airline IndiGo is adding a new safety feature for female passengers.
Women will be able to search and select a seat next to another female if they wish.
During seat selection, they will be able to see which adjacent seats have already been booked by other female passengers.
“It is specifically tailored to women travellers — solo as well as part of family bookings,” the airline said.
It is part of the airline’s ‘girl power ethos.’
It is an effort to make the ‘travel experience more comfortable for our female passengers.’
There have been a number of incidents on flights in India ranging from harassment to groping by male passengers.
