JetBlue courts Boston Celtics as official airline partner

JetBlue has announced a multi-year partnership as the official airline of the Boston Celtics.

The five-year deal will include joint marketing promotions and advertising and a host of NBA related contests and community initiatives in Boston.

"Bostonians understand what Celtic Pride means- a commitment to excellence both on and off the court. We’re proud to partner with the Celtics, and extend our commitment to Boston, and to giving back to the communities we serve," said Marty St. George, executive vice president of commercial and planning for JetBlue.

JetBlue will have a presence in online advertising, e-mail marketing and Celtics.com video features and the partnership kicks off with a fan sweepstakes, offering one winner and a guest the chance to see the Celtics in San Francisco flying on JetBlue’s new Mint service.

JetBlue is the largest carrier at Boston Logan Airport and the Celtics sponsorship is the airline’s fourth of a major league sports team in Boston.

"JetBlue is a thought leader in both digital marketing and corporate and social responsibility, and we look forward to providing our fans unique digital content and making a difference in our local community through this partnership," said Ted Dalton, Celtics’ senior vice president of corporate partnerships and business development.
