KLM trims fuel surcharge
KLM has dropped its fuel surcharge for the second time in less than a month.
The Dutch carrier has reduced the fee by £1 on intra-European flights and £3 on long haul flights.
“The reduction is again a result of the reduced price of a barrel of oil and is part of KLM’s policy to review fuel surcharges on an ongoing basis,” a statement said.
The airline said its policy was to adjust its fuel surcharge if the oil price per barrel rise above or below a certain level for more than 30 consecutive days.
As a result of the reduction, passengers flying from the UK on a return long-haul flight via Amsterdam will see a £8 cut in the surcharge, while those travelling within Europe via Amsterdam will get a £4 reduction. Those flying on a return from the UK to Amsterdam will see a £2 cut.
