Las Vegas Sands taps David Beckham for ‘classic British luxury’ in Macau
Las Vegas Sands and Sands China Ltd unveiled more details about the group’s new The Londoner Macau project.
Fronted by the group’s US and China presidents alongside Sands Resorts Macao global ambassador David Beckham, the project will open in phases from 2020-2021.
It joins The Venetian Macao and The Parisian Macao as the Cotai Strip’s third themed destination development.
Offering ‘classic British luxury’ it will comprise comprise four hotel brands, including the new The Londoner Hotel which is rebranded from the former Holiday Inn Macao Cotai Central, and alongside existing properties Conrad Macao, Cotai Central, Sheraton Grand Macao Hotel, Cotai Central and The St. Regis Macao, Cotai Central.
The Londoner Macao will recreate iconic London landmarks on its façade including the Palace of Westminster and Houses of Parliament with Big Ben.
"The Venetian and The Parisian have each become ‘must-see’ destinations on the Cotai Strip and we have every confidence that The Londoner will be every bit their equal," said Las Vegas Sands president Robert Goldstein.
Luxury British design will feature throughout while David Beckham himself will help to design interiors of the exclusive top floor suites at The Londoner Hotel.
New entertainment amenities include a whole-body fully immersive virtual reality experience and British-themed Streetmosphere shows such as the Changing of the Guard, as well as daily parades featuring iconic figures from British history, culture and literature.
The integrated resort will also house a new 6,000 seat arena.
