Last frontier for automated bookings?
The tour and wholesale travel industry is the last frontier for automated hotel bookings, according to Roland Tanner, vice president, product management for Pegasus Solutions Inc.
He told TravelMole:
“Our latest product we announced this week, which we call NetBooker 4, has all sorts of additional functionalities that make it one of the slickest booking engines on the market.”
Added Bob Boles, executive vp of sales and marketing:
“The state-of-the-art design of the Netbooker engine allows both hotel and other travel distributors to make sure their preferred revenue channel has the features that travel customers demand from an online experience, encouraging essential repeat business and long-term customer loyalty.”
NetBooker is a hosted, online internet booking engine offered to hotel and travel portal companies that operate their own web site. The new version is due to be available 1 October.
Improvements of the “4” version include the ability for hotel and travel portals to customize the look and feel of the site, including the chance to support co-branded graphic looks for corporate partnerships.
It also offers web site integration options that give hotel or travel portals the ability to host a quick availability checking feature from their front page, among other features, said Mr Tanner.
The latest upgrade offers real-time electronic delivery of hotel reservations — as well as modifications and cancellations — to a hotel’s central reservation system and property management system.
New customers include Coachquote, a wholesaler of group travel in the US and Canada, and Private Label Travel, which offers Amtrak Vacations and other outsourced reservation systems.
