Lufthansa City Airlines’ first routes include UK cities
Lufthansa this week shared the inaugural routes for new airline brand Lufthansa City Airlines.
The short haul subsidiary will launch domestic and European flights on A319 aircraft from Munich and later from Frankfurt.
The new German airline will serve German cities Berlin, Dusseldorf, Cologne, Hamburg, Bremen and Hanover.
It is also set to fly to UK cities Birmingham and Manchester, plus Bordeaux in France.
Lufthansa City Airlines will launch this summer although no specific start date has been announced yet.
Reservations will go live from late April.
The new German airline will gradually expand to other cities across Europe ‘in the coming months and years,’ it says.
“The competitive strengthening of the short-haul network is essential for strengthening the Lufthansa Group’s market position.”
The airline was founded in 2022.
