Lunn Poly revives 80’s slogan

Wednesday, 03 Jan, 2003 0

Lunn Poly is relaunching its 1980’s advertising slogan, “Getaway”.

The operator is investing £6 million in reviving the Getaway campaign this month, which it describes as “one of the best remembered advertising slogans of the 80s”.

The slogan will appear on national television and regional radio ads. A spokesperson told TravelMole that some regional radio stations would be running competitions to give away Lunn Poly holidays.

In a statement Lunn Poly said that recent research had shown that four fifths of the British public remember the Getaway campaign that ran during the late 1980s and early 1990s. The research questioned 1,000 UK adults over 18.

The operator is hoping that the new campaign will lodge the slogan in people’s minds, so it will become as renowned as something like BA’s “world’s favourite airline” slogan.
