Malaysia Airlines taps Moment for next-gen In-Flight Entertainment platform
Moment, an e-commerce and connectivity services provider for the travel industry, has partnered with Malaysia Airlines to install its In-Flight Entertainment platform, Flymingo Connect.
Installed aboard its fleet of Boeing 737-800s, the platform enables seamless streaming of passengers’ devices.
The IFE is a modular embedded In-Flight Entertainment platform, featuring a server and Wireless Access Points.
Embedding the latest technologies (5G, Wi-Fi 802.11ax, and IoT gateways), Flymingo Connect enables airlines to also provide in-cabin connected services, and automate aircraft operations.
Tanguy Morel, CEO & co-founder of Moment says: "We are proud to work with Malaysia Airlines as a launch customer on its narrow-body fleet. In a digital-geared context, we are committed to working alongside airlines to enable them to provide a truly connected cabin experience."
Moment is scheduled to roll out pilot tests on the IFE portal starting in January 2022 on selected aircraft in Malaysia Airlines’ B737-800 fleet.
Upon successful trials, Malaysia Airlines will deploy it throughout its entire B737-800 fleet.
Lau Yin May, Group Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer of Malaysia Airlines Berhad said: "We are particularly attentive to new technologies creating a contactless journey. The Flymingo Connect system empowers Malaysia Airlines to deliver market-leading onboard services, and elevate our passenger’s onboard experience, plus increase ancillary revenue."
