Marriott rolls out mobile check-in at first SPG hotels
Marriott International’s Starwood Preferred Guest loyalty program has rolled out the first phase of SPG Mobile Check-In for members.
It begins at 22 hotels in the US and Marriott expects to complete the global rollout by the end of 2017.
It includes several of the Starwood brands acquired recently by Marriott including Westin, Sheraton, St Regis, Four Points, Le Meridien, Tribute Portfolio and The Luxury Collection.
"Mobile check-in is incredibly popular among our Marriott Rewards members with more than 200,000 check-ins occurring each week and that’s why we wanted to extend this convenient app feature to SPG members as well," said David Flueck, senior vice president for global loyalty, Marriott International.
"Mobile check-in is another example of how we are taking the best of our loyalty programs to make the travel experiences for all of our 100 million members even better."
The first phase is now available at hotels including The St. Regis Aspen Resort, The Liberty, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Boston, Le Méridien Arlington, Virginia, Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina and Sheraton Fisherman’s Wharf Hotel.
The feature is available for members using the SPG mobile app and for stays booked direct with SPG or via the app.
On the day of arrival a ‘room ready’ notification will be sent to the member who can also request an early check-in.
This is all in addition to SPG’s Keyless service which allows guests to bypass the check-in desk altogether at select Aloft, Element and W hotels.
