The Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau highlighted the resilience of Miami-Dade tourism industry at the Annual State of the Travel & Tourism Industry presentation.
The event at Norwegian Cruise Line’s terminal at PortMiami celebrated its achievements in 2023 that propelled strong momentum into early 2024.
This year’s presentation coincided with National Travel and Tourism Week (NTTW.
Greater Miami and Miami Beach welcomed over 27.2 million visitors in 2023 generating $21.1 billion in spending. This is up 2% increase from the previous year.
The region saw 17.3 million hotel room nights sold.
For UK visitors specifically, there was steady growth of 6% in visitation compared to 2022.
The UK ranked fourth in the top international overnight visitors to Miami, behind Colombia, Brazil and Canada.
David Whitaker, president of the GMCVB said: “The sustained growth we witnessed in 2023 and the promising start to 2024 are due to our ability to effectively market the enduring appeal of Greater Miami and Miami Beach.”

Tourism officials say it generated almost $30 billion in overall economic impact and $4.98 billion in tax revenue.
Miami tourism accounted for more than 200,000 jobs.
