This award is carefully selected by a panel of senior industry executives to honor 25 of the hotel and travel industry’s best and brightest minds.
Pure Michigan Fall and Seek
Gold in Public Relations – PR Campaign – Influencer Marketing
With more than 600 miles between the northernmost point and the southernmost point, fall colours last upwards of six weeks across the state. During this period, Pure Michigan invited audiences to experience the season through an authentic travel journey led by three social influencers as they trekked across Michigan. The community had the chance to influence the trips via Facebook and Instagram polls that guided their destinations.

Silver in Advertising – Single Entry – Television
This iconic campaign has transported viewers out of their everyday life and showed them the way life should be. A new television ad titled "Wish You Were Here" was launched in spring of 2017. The script was crafted to read as a postcard inviting a friend or family member to come and experience the best Michigan has to offer. Climb dunes, sail breezes, walk along beaches and get lost in forests. The visuals showcased breath taking views of Michigan teasing viewers to witness the unexpected beauty of the state – https://youtu.be/nLVZh-W6ue4

Note to Editors:
The State of Michigan is a state blessed with the riches of unspoiled nature: the longest freshwater coastline in the United States, lakes that feel like oceans, shimmering beaches, miles and miles of cherry orchards, glorious sunrises and sunsets, daytime skies of the deepest blue, nighttime skies scattered with stars.
Home to more than 100 public beaches, some of the highest freshwater sand dunes in the world, stunning multi-colored sandstone cliffs, two National Lakeshores and the only national marine sanctuary in the Great Lakes, the Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary in Lake Huron. More than 129 lighthouses, numerous maritime museums, ten shipwreck-diving preserves and historic military fortifications rim Michigan’s Great Lakes shoreline.
Lakes, campgrounds, wildlife refuges and 103 Michigan state parks and recreation areas create a wide variety of recreational pursuits. Rivers for water sports, and thousands of miles of hiking, biking, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling trails thread their way among some 100 species of trees.
Long days, relaxing weather and more than 650 pristine Michigan courses make for the perfect tee time. Because being able to play all day is Pure Michigan. www.michigan.org
