Mickey gives new twist to Chinese New Year
With Chinese New Year just around the corner, Mickey Mouse and the gang will usher in the momentous Year of the Mouse, and help Hong Kong residents celebrate with all-new extraordinary Chinese New Year experiences.
From January 22, 2008 to February 24, 2008, Hong Kong Disneyland invites guests to join the spectacular celebrations in honor of the Year of the Mouse. With a special Disney twist on traditional Chinese New Year celebrations, guests will experience never-before-seen innovative and festive activities.

Mickey Rockin’ the Mouse Castle Show
Mickey Mouse takes center stage in this energetic musical spectacular filled with pop music, Disney characters, groovy dancers and electrifying pyrotechnics. Get ready to dance and scream to an array of magnificent Asian hits, including the latest Disney themed Chinese New Year title by Twins. Taking place each day in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle, this is a must see explosive celebration.
Salute to Mickey Statues
Mickey Mouse’s celebrity friends Jacky Cheung, Twins – Charlene and Gillian, Eric Kot, Jan Lamb, Justin, DJ Sammy, Fahrenheit and internationally renowned fashion designer, Vivienne Tam, are flexing their artistic skills to create eight life-size Mickey statues to bring about good fortune. Each creative art-piece centers around the Year of the Mouse Celebration and represents a certain aspect of luck for Chinese New Year. The statues will not only make the perfect backdrop to create and capture those special family memories at Hong Kong Disneyland, they will also help bring good luck to guests throughout the year
Rhythm of Life Procession
With an all-new spin on traditional Chinese New Year festivities, unique puppets of Birds, Flowers and Fish come together in a sensational performance symbolizing the rhythm of life. Filled with vibrant music and lively dancers, guests will experience living art, as different golden globes representing good wishes converge on Mainstreet U.S.A.
Mickey’s House
Mickey has been sprucing up his home in preparation for the Year of the Mouse! Guests will be immersed in Mickey’s world and will get a glimpse of vibrant items throughout his home, including keepsakes, fashion and foods.
