MSC Cruises is updating shipboard Internet connectivity and is introducing new Wi-Fi packages across its fleet.
It is partnering with shipping communications provider Marlink to offer high-bandwidth global access on its existing 12 ships and those currently under construction.
"We are constantly seeking new ways to innovate and enhance guest experience aboard what is already the most modern fleet at sea," CEO Gianni Onorato, said last week.
"We know that staying connected while on vacation is increasingly more important to our guests, hence we are rolling out state-of-the-art technology to allow them to stay connected.
It is rolling out three inclusive packages available to purchase on a daily basis or for the entire cruise.
The Social Package costs $4.50 per day or $16.50 for a seven-night cruise and provides access to social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram while the Surfer Package ($11 per day or $33 for a seven-night cruise) offers general web surfing on up to two devices.
The top tier Streamer Package offers the most bandwidth for full Internet and social media access, which includes audio and video streaming.
It is available on up to four devices at $22 per day or $66 for a seven-night cruise.
All packages can be booked in advance or onboard the ship and are now live on MSC Divina and MSC Preziosa.
It will be rolled out across the fleet in the coming months.
