Multi-day tour specialist Exoticca secures €60 million in funding
Multi-day tour travel tech platform Exoticca just revealed it has closed a €60 million Series D round led by global investment platform Quadrille Capital.
It includes new investors All Iron and ICF plus existing investors 14W, Mangrove, Bonsai, Sabadell and Aldea.
Exoticca’s travel tech platform offers multi-day tour packages.
It says this sector is worth over €100 billion, and is still dominated by traditional tour operators with minimal digitisation.
This prevents travel agencies from offering real-time pricing and availability for complex packages.
Exoticca’s bespoke tech is able to seamlessly connect all the different services such as flights, hotels, meals, transfers, transportation and activities required.
By digitising all elements of the booking process, Exoticca can cut the process of booking complex long-haul trips down to just minutes.
This enables savings of around 30% compared to traditional competitors.
The funding will allow Exoticca to leverage AI to improve product offering and the customer experience.
The company is focused on opening in new markets and building brand exposure to both traditional travel agencies and online travel partners.
“While the rest of the travel industry has become digitised, the multi-day tour space has remained stagnant, with customers stuck with inconsistent, time-consuming booking experiences,” said Pere Vallès, CEO at Exoticca.
“Exoticca’s mission is to bring multi-day tour packages into the digital age.”
Alejandra Duran Gil, Partner at Quadrille Capital, said: “Exoticca is revolutionising the travel booking experience worldwide, significantly enhancing efficiency and affordability for travellers.”
Exoticca has more than doubled its sales annually since 2015, selling trips to over 70 destinations worldwide to travellers in the US, Canada, UK, France, Germany, Spain, Mexico and Colombia, directly and through a network of travel and non-travel online and offline partners.
The platform also features a Travel Concierge App and an automated response system for all the services included in the package.
