Mum knows best
‘Mums and Dads’ who work for Royal Caribbean International are being employed for a dedicated advice line, aimed at agents and consumers.
Dubbed ‘Royal Mums & Dads’ the new service is being operated by knowledgeable parents who work for the cruise line and who have all cruised recently, many of them several times in the last few years.
Some of the Royal Mums have teens, whilst others have younger children, and Royal Caribbean claims they can give "frank and insightful feedback" on any subject, from how to keep children entertained to health and safety questions.
The line is open between 9.30am and 2.30pm every weekday.
The cruise has also added more family-focused information to its agent online e-learning programme.
Tomorrow (Monday) an e-shot will be sent to over 20,000 agents registered to use Cruising for Excellence Online with more information on the Royal Mums and Dads line.
Honorary Royal Mum and head of trade sales, Nicki Tempest-Mitchell, mum to Lydia, aged 7 and Ollie, aged 10 months, explains: "We hope to assist agents in converting a sale by offering our own expertise to reassure clients looking at cruising for the first time.
"Our Royal Mums and Dads cannot wait to share stories from their own experiences and provide their honest feedback and insights into holidays at sea."
The cruise line claims it has seen a 33% rise in the number of British families booking its cruises in the past 10 years, with many families taking to the sea for the very first time.
