Mystery over Harry's Vegas strip - TravelMole

Mystery over Harry’s Vegas strip

Friday, 23 Aug, 2012 0

The Internet was afire yesterday with viral images of Prince Harry partying in Vegas, but the big question everyone wants to know is where exactly was Britain’s most controversial prince when the snaps were taken?

Celebrity website TMZ published nude photos of hell-raising Harry, who had presumably  been playing a game of strip pool when a fellow guest snapped the pictures.  Other images published along with the nude shots showed a shirtless Harry partying at the MGM Grand Resort & Casino’s Wet Republic Ultra Pool.

The images quickly went viral with some news sites reporting the nude photos were taken at the Wynn Las Vegas & Encore Resort and other saying the VIP suite shown in the snapshots was at the MGM Grand.

TravelMole contacted both the MGM Grand and Wynn Las Vegas for clarification.  The statement from Wynn’s flack was a frosty: "No comment!" .

While the MGM Grand confirms that Harry indeed partied at the Wet Republic Ultra Pool, they said that the VIP suite, shown in the nude pictures of the Prince, is not at the MGM. Meanwhile, the Palace has reported the matter to the Press Complaints Commission to try to block British newspapers from pubishing the images. Clearly the Queen is not amused.

However,  the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority appears to be delighted.

"Las Vegas is excited that Prince Harry continues to visit the destination for his stateside getaways," said Courtney Fitzgerald of the LVCVA. "Las Vegas is about adult freedom and that means different things to different people.  It’s important for friends to know what activities can be shared publicly and what activities are protected by the code of ‘What Happens in Vegas; Stays in Vegas.’"

Virgin Holidays said inquiries for trips to Sin City had shot up 30% since news of Harry’s antics broke. The company said it had sent a care package to the Wynn hotel for the Prince, which includes spare trunks, sunglasses and an energy drink.
