New advertising vehicle as Consumerdata launches online newsletter to 500,000 travellers
Consumerdata, the travel customer satisfaction specialists are launching CD-Tr@veller , a brand new online travel newsletter delivering priceless tips and hints to over 500,000 British and Irish proven travellers.
The objective of CD-Tr@veller, is to “provide genuinely useful and independent information to our database of travel survey respondents while providing online marketers with a highly targeted advertising vehicle” says Adrian Lawes of Consumerdata.
CD-Tr@veller is the result of a series of survey questions to the Consumerdata database as to what kind of information they would like to receive via an online travel newsletter. A sizeable majority of users wanted destination or attraction specific content with a practical focus as opposed to a newsletter filled with travel offers. The majority of respondents also stated that they were happy to see advertising on the newsletter as long as it was relevant.
Thomas Thiollier of First Source Interactive, who is handling the advertising for the newsletter, is excited about CD-Tr@veller, “It’s great to have a new product with an already established and loyal user base. This will provide destinations, attractions and suppliers of holiday services with a powerful vehicle to get to qualified leads”.
Thiollier also emphasises the benefits to advertisers of the e-mail platform for CD-Tr@veller, “The platform is highly robust and can provide not just the standard campaign measurements but detailed behavioural information as well”.
Lawes explains further the reasons for launching CD-Tr@veller, “We have the relationship in place with our database and we wanted to capitalise on this by providing them with the kind of content they might not be receiving currently. There are lots of newsletters providing only travel offers and we see little point in duplicating this. What you will get with CD-Tr@veller, is destination or attraction specific information supported by appropriate advertising partners.”
Each edition, which will be distributed quarterly at first with the objective to go monthly next year, will concentrate on one overseas and at least one UK or Irish destination. The focus will be on practical hints and tips such as getting to airports without having to pay almost as much as the flight itself to get there! CD-Tr@veller will also utilise the millions of opinions collated by Consumerdata to provide features on “where travellers from Liverpool to Livingstone go and what they think about it” says Lawes.
