New Amadeus river ship launching on the Danube next summer
Amadeus River Cruises has unveiled details of upcoming new ship, Amadeus Amara, which joins the fleet next summer.
The maiden voyage of Amadeus Amara is scheduled for early July 2025 on the Danube.
The line says it will be the most sustainable ship ever.
It features a lightweight construction and a shallow draft allowing for reliable cruising in seasonally fluctuating water levels.
Additionally, its reduced water resistance will help minimise fuel consumption.
The sustainable design is further enhanced by a fuel-saving autopilot and solar panels on the sun deck.
Amadeus Amara will accommodate 164 guests across three-decks.
Another technical highlight is the steering system which automatically adjusts to currents, water levels, ship traffic, wind speeds and wave conditions.
This maximises propulsion efficiency, it says.
It houses 12 suites with walk-out balconies and the 70 standard cabins mostly offer drop-down panoramic windows.
