New free industry Italy green guide out
Guide to green tourism opportunities specifically produced for agents, operators
A new green guide has just been produced especially for the travel trade who wish to take advantage of new green tourism offers in Italy.
The first – 41page – guide concentrates on a part of Emilia-Romagna that has hitherto been promoted as a summer beach destination but has a substantial undiscovered green tourism potential that includes lake and mountain and activity holidays.
The guide outlines trade opportunities for walking, cycling, soft adventure and other activity holidays together with the major possibilities for cooking and food and wine holidays without overlooking the safe and consistent nature of green beach holidays.
Green Tourism launched an award programme in the area some two years ago and now many hotels and other tourism businesses have green certifications – there are even some establishments who have been awarded Gold ratings.
Best of Romagna say that "This new guide unveils a hitherto undiscovered visitor’s paradise. There is a wealth of cities of art (including, even Ravenna – capital of the Roman Empire no less than three times). There is a cornucopia of exquisite local foods, scores of sensational high quality vineyards, a cookery tradition that is second to none in the world, and literally hundreds of fairytale castles – with festas galore. All this is set in a part of Italy between Venice and Florence in a beautiful area no bigger than Wales, Flanders or New York State. And it’s all very, very green. Plus there are lots of independent hoteliers offering serious food combined with safe beach holidays"
