A new Indian airline has got the green light to start flight operations soon.

FLY91 is a new regional airline which will be based in Goa.

It just received final approval for its Air Operator Certificate (AOC) from regulator DGCA, the airline said.

Based at Goa’s Manohar International Airport, FLY91 hopes to offer short regional flights to tier 2 and tier 3 cities,

It recently received its first leased ATR 72-600 aircraft.

This is the first of two aircraft to be leased from Dubai Aerospace Enterprise.

“The AOC is the final step of a rigorous process laid down by the DGCA and marks the completion of all regulatory and compliance requirements for the airline to begin its commercial operations,” the airline said.

The airline has already got approval for some routes in the government’s UDAN scheme, which offers subsidised essential air service to regional towns and cities.

These include Sindhudurg, Jalgaon and Lakshadweep.
