The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says 68 cruise ship guests and five crew members were sickened by an outbreak on their Alaska cruise.

It happened on a recent Celebrity Cruises sailing aboard Celebrity Summit.

The cruise line isolated sick guests and crew and undertook a more rigorous sanitization of the ship.

The 2,264-guest ship is on a series of Alaska cruise voyages from Vancouver.

The CDC identified the outbreak as norovirus.

The May 24 voyage departed Vancouver, British Columbia and called at Ketchikan, Sitka, Juneau, and Icy Strait Point to Seward.

It is the seventh reported outbreak on a cruise ship this year with six confirmed as norovirus.

The first outbreak of the year was aboard another Celebrity cruise ship, the Constellation.

Om that voyage, 100 guests and crew fell ill with norovirus.

Norovirus can spread through food or contaminated and symptoms include diarrhea and vomiting.
