PATA reveals 2024 travel trends
The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) UK & Ireland has revealed its latest PATA Patterns, a roundup of trends expected to shape travel to the region in 2024 and beyond.
It provides insights into what is slated to be popular and to inspire travel agents on what to sell.
PATA UK & Ireland chapter surveyed their members to find out what’s new such as hotel openings, attractions, emerging destinations, festivals and events.
It also surveyed their marketing focuses, as well as booking insights from tour operators.
Based on the feedback from tourist boards, DMC’s, tour operators, airlines and hoteliers, PATA unveiled its top trends and traveller personas likely to shape travel in 2024:
Art Addicts & the Culturati
The Rail Renaissance
Transformative Travel
Wanderlust Wanderers
Gastronomy Gurus
Luxury for Less
Wellness Warriors
Agent Authority
Mix & Match
Tech Travel
Chris Crampton, Chairman of PATA UK & Ireland Chapter said: “It isn’t surprising that the region has taken quite a while to fully recover from of the Covid response.”
“The signs are that normality is returning and the high-end luxury sector is in better shape than the budget market.”
The desire to visit Pacific Asia remains as strong as ever, and with fair winds we expect to see further growth in the next 12 months,” he added.
Unsurprisingly, the importance of the travel agent remains key.
PATA will continue to support their agent partners and will explore new initiatives around how they interact with agents to ensure they are receiving the latest training from PATA’s members.
