Pepperpot Rum Shop showcases Antigua food and culture experiences
Celebrity Chef Andi Oliver’s best-selling cookbook, The Pepperpot Diaries, is transforming into a festival of food, mixology, and culture on the islands of Antigua and Barbuda.
It becomes an immersive 100-day food and culture experience for the inaugural Pepperpot Rum Shop pop-up experience in the historic Fort James area of Antigua.
The collaboration between celebrity Chef Andi Oliver, the Treehouse Beach Club and the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority launches on 8 May.
Over 100 days, the Pepperpot Rum Shop will showcase food, drinks and iconic cultural experiences inspired by Andi’s recipes and Antiguan heritage.
It is set in a prime location at one of the newest beachfront venues, the Treehouse Beach Club.
It also coincides with the Antigua and Barbuda Restaurant Week (5-19 May) which attracts foodies from around the world.
Inspired by dishes created for Andi’s London restaurant Wadadli Kitchen, and the foodie memoir, Pepperpot Diaries, visitors can sample celebrated dishes, like chocolate curried goat, alongside some innovative new recipes created for the event.
“I can’t wait to share some of the dishes inspired by friends, family and my Antiguan heritage,” Andi said.
The T20 Cricket World Cup will also be taking place during the 100 days.
In a boost for Barbuda tourism, the island will host the second-highest number of matches among all hosting venues, with a total of eight games scheduled.
The Pepperpot Rum Shop will be setting up a location where cricket fans can soak up the atmosphere and enjoy activities.
Legendary West Indies captain Sir Richie Richardson will be joining the festivities as an ambassador, engaging with fans and participating in various activities.
The Pepperpot Rum Shop 100 Days will also include a curated programme of events including film, wellness, art, and music.
