Peregrine In The Middle East

The opening aerial shots of desert vastness and rolling dunes in the film The English Patient set the scene for adventure in Egypt’s Western Desert. Peregrine puts you right in the picture on the new 16-day Western Desert Expedition, a feature of the company’s new Middle East adventure holiday range.

Beginning and ending in Cairo, the Western Desert Expedition ventures into some of the remotest regions on earth – which means carrying all supplies with the group, including fuel, water and food. It takes in the oasis towns of Bahariya and Dakhla before heading due west into the heart of the desert. Uweinat, The English Patient location, reveals thousands of rock art images left by ancient nomads. Camping under the stars among the endless high dunes of the Great Sand Sea is an experience worthy of a Hollywood epic.

Libya and Morocco are both new destinations for Peregrine, with two new trips in Libya and five in Morocco. For the more adventurous, the Jebel Sahro, Desert & Coast is a 14-day trip through Morocco. Beginning and ending in fabled Marrakech, this trip includes four days trekking through the valleys, views, and villages of the High Atlas mountains; a camel ride into the desert sunset on the edge of the Sahara, to spend a night camped under the desert stars and a final stop in the relaxed coastal town of Essaouira.
