Pitchup.com launches app
Pitchup.com has launched a free app that allows users to book nearly 700 locations in the UK, Ireland and France.
The outdoor accommodation specialist claims to be the first company in the UK to create such an app, which is currently available to download from iTunes.
An android app will follow shortly and in the meantime users can visit the new mobile site at http://m.pitchup.com.
The interactive app is designed to offer almost the same amount of functionality as the main website, with fast search function and the ability to search near device’s location or by location, site name or postcode.
Users can see full descriptions, local attractions, reviews, features and photos and there is a brand new booking page specially designed for mobile keypads and smaller screens.
The app has a choice of 677 campsites and holiday parks in the UK, France and Ireland, 408 of which already feature 2014 pricing and availability.
It also features the ability to log in to view past and present bookings, favourites and request a duplicate email booking confirmation and there is an option to receive a text message with booking details.
Dan Yates, founder of Pitchup.com commented: "When we launched Pitchup.com in 2009 our vision was to launch an app for booking campsite and holiday park accommodation within five years so I’m delighted we’ve accomplished it and also become the first company to do so with in-app bookability."
