Princess should know by now the ramifications giving double loyalty points has, especially for a lengthy time. Everyone's watched as RCCL did that during the Pandemic "shutdown" thinking the GOV. would give the green light to begin cruising again (which dragged on for well over a year [almost 2!]). Royal CAS members racked up double points upon double points fast-tracking from Diamond to Diamond Plus to Pinnacle in record time. Now RCCL has had to pushback on perks for the 3 upper tiers (Diamond, D+, & Pinnacle). And the result is not a happy bunch of loyalists. The Diamond Lounge (now renamed Crown Lounge) -- which are not terribly large to begin with -- are now overcrowded. Pinnacles have been given their own Lounge (some are in out-of-the-way disco locations). Only the top 30 ranking Pinnacles on a cruise aer given access to the Suite Lounge whereas in "olden days" they ALL had access. Be careful what you wish for, Princess!

This may be a negative issue in the long run for Princess. They should have learned a thing or two by watching Royal Caribbean's struggle with this program promotion. Royal Caribbean did this during the Pandemic shut down... and have since paid dearly for it. Their loyalty tiers exploded with high achievers reaching the 3 upper tier levels in more than half the time it would have normally taken. The cruise line apparently was NOT prepared for the end results. The upper tier lounges are grossly overcrowded; it necessitated loyalty perks be revamped and not necessarily positively (some previous perks were removed!), and this caused a huge pushback with the loss of previously loyal clients. Princess: Be careful what you wish for,
