Radisson rebrands to appeal to luxury market
Radisson Seven Seas Cruises is to be rebranded to appeal more directly to the luxury market. The firm, owned by Minnesota-based Carlson Companies, has five ships which it markets as being in the six-star bracket. Its newest ship, the Seven Seas Voyager, was launched in 2003 and Radisson claims it has the largest suites at sea, while one of its four dining rooms includes Signatures, the world’s second Le Cordon Bleu restaurant. The company has declined to give details of the switch, but a spokesman confirmed the Radisson name would be dropped. “We felt it was time to move on and apply a new name that’s right for us,” he said. The new name was due to be unveiled last month, but was postponed for undisclosed reasons. It is not known whether sister company, Radisson Hotels and Resorts, will be affected.
