Red Carnation unveils first Scottish hotel
Family-owned hotel collection Red Carnation Hotels has announced its debut in Scotland.
100 Princes Street in Edinburgh is housed in the historic former headquarters of the Royal Overseas League.
The Edinburgh hotel will deliver a sense of Scotland’s cultural, historic and nautical legacy, located a stone’s throw from Scotland’s National Gallery and facing Edinburgh Castle.
100 Princes Street is helmed by Resident Manager Laura Jamieson.
It features 30 ensuite rooms and suites; ‘The Wallace’ dining room, bar and lounge as well as ‘Ghillie’s Pantry’, an elegant private dining room offering over 100 whiskies and custom tasting menus.
The design of 100 Princes Street is brought through a collaboration with the team behind Botswana’s Xigera Safari Lodge and Ireland’s Ashford Castle, led by Toni Tollman.
The Tollman family has focused on protecting the architectural heritage of the building and restoring its original features.
The rooms custom-made furnishings, fabrics and artworks unique to the Edinburgh hotel, including five tartans by Scottish designer Araminta Campbell.
There are numerous handpicked antiques and nautical design elements.
There are two signature suites, named The Archibald and The Isobel after renowned Scottish explorers Archibald Menzies and Isobel Wylie Hutchison, both offering views of Edinburgh Castle.
Exclusively for guests, 100 Princes Street presents a collection of tailored experiences such as a personalised Scottish gin and fishing excursions on the River Tweed.
Nightly rates at 100 Princes Street start at £450
