Ryanair hails Athens court verdict over disruptive passenger
Ryanair reiterated its zero tolerance for disruptive passenger behaviour after a customer was sentenced in an Athens court.
The airline welcomed the decision of the Athens court to convict a passenger who disrupted a flight to Athens in July 2020.
The passenger, who refused to follow crew instructions, received a five-month suspended sentence and a €400 fine.
The airline says it will ‘continue to take decisive action’ to combat unruly mid-flight behaviour on aircraft.
A Ryanair spokesperson said: “We operate a strict zero tolerance policy to try to eradicate unruly behaviour onboard our aircraft. Ryanair welcomes this decision.”
“It demonstrates that the tiny number of passengers that disrupt flights will face consequences for their unruly behaviour.”
