Ryanair reduces check-in window for those who don’t pay extra

Friday, 17 Oct, 2016 0

Ryanair is to further reduce the online check in window to just four days before departure for passengers who don’t pay extra to pick their own seats.

The move, which takes effect on November 1, means that customers taking a traditional week-long holiday who opt for random seat allocation won’t be able to print out the boarding pass for their return flight before they leave home.

This means they will have to find somewhere to check in online and print out their boarding pass while they’re abroad, or find wi-fi so they can check in using the Ryanair app.

The airline said it had reduced the check-in period for customers who opt for random seat allocation from one week to four days ‘to increase choice for those customers who wish to reserve their seat onboard’.

Customers who pay £6 per person per flight extra for a reserved seat can check in from 30 days to 2 hours before their flight.

Ryanair’s Kenny Jacobs said: "We’re continuing to listen to our customers through our ‘Always Getting Better’ programme and this change reflects the customer feedback we have received."
