Ryanair to charge €100 charity fee to price comparison websites for fare access

Monday, 29 Apr, 2009 0

Ryanair is to allow price comparison websites to access its timetable and pricing information in exchange for an annual €100 charitable donation.

The airline said it will continue its ban on screenscraper websites, but will introduce this new licence agreement for price comparison only websites.

Michael O’Leary said: “All licence fees will be donated by Ryanair to the charity nominated annually by our staff.

“Ryanair will continue to fight against “ticket-tout” screenscrapers which are reselling Ryanair seats without authorisation and are ripping off consumers with inflated fares and fictit ious fuel surcharges.”
