Sabre’s Red Hot Apps for travel agents

Third party app providers are embracing the Sabre Red App Centre in a big way, Sabre has reported.

Since the launch of the Red App Centre, more than 80 third party app providers have applied to become Red App Certified Providers in order to reach the 220,000 travel agents who use the Sabre Red Workspace.

Sabre launched the Red App Centre, the first B2B app store for the travel industry, earlier this year.

Since then, agencies in 20 different countries have generated more than 4,000 Red App downloads.

"Sabre agents book and manage tens of billions of dollars in travel every year, touching tens of millions of travellers around the globe. So it hasn’t taken long for third party app developers to see the huge opportunity in the Sabre Red App Centre," said Sabre Pacific GM sales and product Aus/NZ, Carl Frier.

One of the third party app providers working on Red Apps is long time Sabre authorised developer, Travel Automation, which have several Red Apps in the works including Star Gazer, which gathers all data from desired set of profiles and copies to a CSV file allowing agents to easily search and filter through the data.

Other developers working on Red Apps include Argentina-based technology provider APTEK, which is developing an Easy Schedules Red App; Car Pilots, an Australian developer, which is developing a Red App to make booking of transfers and chauffeured vehicles easier for travel agents; and Drivania International, which is building a taxi reservation Red App.

Sabre recently named Limos.com as the winner of the Sabre Red Appy Award for its powerful car services shopping and booking Red App.

Agents can view all limo companies that are offered in the Limos.com system, access all-inclusive pricing, including gratuity and estimated drive times, and receive an instant confirmation of bookings with a confirmation code.
