SCVB Gears Up for Official Launch of an Asia Pacific First
The Sydney Convention and Visitors Bureau (SCVB) is preparing for the official launch of its exciting new Sydney Conference Card, following strong response to its pilot program.
A first for the Asia Pacific region, the Sydney Conference Card is designed to help the city’s businesses boost their business-event related sales, while giving business event visitors a 10% discount at restaurants, retail stores, major attractions and other tourism ventures.
Fifty of Sydney’s leading tourism businesses are presently participating in a four-month pilot program for the joint rewards and discount card, involving more than 14,000 delegates attending business events in Sydney between March and June.
With the pilot program already registering excellent results, the SCVB is now recruiting 100 other businesses for the official July launch of the program.
SCVB Managing Director Jon Hutchison said that the trial card had been issued to delegates at a range of prominent international events including last month’s 2500-delegate International Federation of Societies for Surgery of the Hand & International Federation of Societies of Hand Therapists.
He added that it would also be provided to attendees at upcoming events including this month’s XVIII World Congress of the WAS – 1st World Congress for Sexual Health, and the Australian Events Expo in May.
He said, “The initial response has been very good with participants using the card across a range of areas from dining to attractions and general shopping, so clearly it’s hitting the mark.”
Developed in partnership with Smartvisit Solutions, the Sydney Conference Card uses the latest technology, enabling participants to track its effectiveness with daily reports available online as well as quarterly snapshots summarising overall delegate spending patterns.
