Second IT&CM China grows by 50 percent

Sunday, 21 Jan, 2008 0

The second event of IT&CM China returns to Shanghai from 9 to 11 April 2008. The tradeshow has received very positive response from exhibitors, with all of the 6,200sqm exhibition space at the new venue, ShanghaiMart Expo, snapped up. This is an almost 50 percent jump from the 4,000sqm taken up in the inaugural show in 2007, according to organisers, TTG Asia Media and MP International Pte Ltd.

The strong vote of confidence in IT&CM China is evident with the increase in exhibition space by repeat exhibitors. First-time exhibitors are also leveraging on the IT&CM platform to generate new business opportunities and strengthen partnerships with existing clients.

To date, the second IT&CM China has garnered strong participation from 189 exhibiting companies and organisations. Country pavilions from Brunei, Hawaii, Hong Kong, Iran, Macau, Malaysia, Monaco and Singapore are among the NTOs (National Tourism Organisations) to exhibit in the tradeshow. The event will also feature established corporate exhibitors, such as Asian Trails, Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts, Carlson Hotels, Dusit International, Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, InterContinental Hotels Group, Kempinski S.A, Marriott International Inc, Millennium & Copthorne International, Starwood Hotels & Resorts and Swissotel Hotels & Resorts.

Mr Darren Ng, Managing Director of TTG Asia Media, said, “The second IT&CM China continues to build on its inaugural success to offer new and exciting options for our participants. We shall strive to make IT&CM China the most meaningful MICE platform in this part of the world.”

IT&CM China will be the only international MICE show in China this year, in the wake of the postponement of CIBTM (China Incentive Business Travel & Meetings Exhibition).

“We are pleased to offer exhibitors the opportunity to promote and showcase their products and services at our dedicated show in China. We believe buyers and the media will find this a perfect platform to meet major representations of the China MICE industry in one co-ordinated setting,” added Mr Ng.

The growth of the tradeshow reflects the increase in MICE business in China, as the country is likely to become a primary destination for international MICE tourism in the 21st century, attracting over 137 million MICE tourists in the global MICE market by 2020.

Ms Sylvia Phua, Chief Executive Officer of MP International, commented, “IT&CM China’s unique concept offers extensive educational and promotional opportunities for the MICE industry. The 2008 event promises to be bigger and better, with specially tailored programmes catered to make this THE trade event of the year.”

With a distinctive pre-event matchmaking of buyers and sellers for efficient business discussions, quality hosted buyers programme and conference seminars with eminent speakers, IT&CM China aims to provide visitors and exhibitors with a rewarding experience. The highlights at this year’s show include the first Future Leaders Forum, the first TTG China Travel Awards and the China Top Ten Awards.

IT&CM China 2008 expects to attract over 2,000 local and international MICE professionals. Log on to www.itcmchina.com for more information.
