See Australia Without Leaving Sydney with Sydney Tower + OzTrek

Sunday, 24 Mar, 2006 0

Make this Easter school break a holiday to remember and take the kids to Sydney Tower + OzTrek – one of the largest motion cinema rides in the country.

Located in Sydney’s tallest building, Sydney Tower, OzTrek combines surround sound, 3D imagery and real motion to take visitors on a fun and entertaining magic carpet ride across Australia as they journey through Australia’s geographical, cultural and historical highlights.

From April 1-30, 2006, every child under 16 accompanied by a full-paying adult will be able to visit Sydney Tower + OzTrek for free, simply by downloading a special discount voucher on the web at www.sydneytoweroztrek.com.au and presenting it at the Sydney Tower + OzTrek ticket office.

Sure to please the young and young-at-heart, the Sydney Tower + OzTrek experience begins with a visit to the OzTrek chambers – a rotating auditorium that literally spins visitors through four Australian landscapes. Here the unique features of the Australian outback, native rainforest, reef and city life are brought to life using animated models and moving hologram projections.

Visitors then move through a replica cave lined with Aboriginal-style etchings before being strapped in for Australia’s only motion theatre experience.

With the help of six-metre high 180-degree screens, viewers take an exciting and fun excursion through Australia’s history and geography – soaring over Sydney Harbour, sweeping over the shooting rapids of the Tully River, mustering cattle in the outback and revisiting the journey of the First Fleet.

Environmental and surround-sound effects combine with the motion of the seats to leave visitors exhilarated by the experience – and ready to explore Australia.

Just as exciting is the trip to the Observation Deck atop Sydney Tower, also included in Sydney Tower + OzTrek admission.

More than twice the height of the Harbour Bridge and six times as high as Niagara Falls, the 305m-high Sydney Tower boasts unsurpassed, birds-eye views of one of the world’s most spectacular cities, as well as 85km beyond towards the Blue Mountains, the Central Coast and South Coast.

Visitors can also share their special Sydney Tower experience with friends and family by sending a postcard or letter from Australia’s highest functioning postbox, located a quarter of a kilometre above the city streets on the Observation Deck.

The Sydney Tower + OzTrek ticket office is located on the podium level above Centrepoint Shopping Centre, 100 Market St, Sydney.  Under the special website offer, children under 16 can visit Sydney Tower + OzTrek free when accompanied by a full-paying adult. The offer cannot be combined with family, group or concession tickets or any other discount offer. Call 9333 9222 or visit www.sydneytoweroztrek.com.au.
