Shangri-La opens first Hotel Jen property in Singapore
Shangri-La Hotels has unveiled its new brand Hotel Jen in Singapore, and will continue a rebranding program across the Traders Hotels portfolio in Asia.
The 502-room Singapore hotel is the first Hotel Jen to open and Shangri-La plans to roll out similar rebranding at existing Traders Hotels in Hong Kong, Brisbane, Penang and Johor Bahru in Malaysia, Manila, Maldives, Beijing and Shenyan by March 2015.
"The Hotel Jen experience delivers what matters most to guests with a millennial mind set," according to Greg Dogan, president and CEO of Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts.
"The Traders brand has had a 25-year history of success in generating solid business, carving out a niche amidst a highly competitive industry, however, we are looking to the future and we are recognising and responding to the global travel trends and particular needs of this new generation traveler," Dogan said.
This will keep us relevant and competitive for the next 20 years to come," Dogan added.
Food and beverage options at Hotel Jen properties will focus on local produce with free coffee and grab-and-go kiosks.
Other features include free Wi-Fi and mobile charging stations.
"With the rebranding of Traders Hotels to Hotel Jen, we will broaden our range of guests and attract more travellers looking for distinctive experiences, as well as appeal to families and groups who want a more independent, yet friendly and personable stay experience," explained Hotel Jen COO Lothar Nessmann.
