Silversea introduces online agent training academy
Silversea Cruises has opened online luxury cruise training for agents with the introduction of the Silversea Academy.
It can be accessed through the travel agent section of the luxury line’s website, www.silversea.com or directly at www.silverseaacademy.com.
The site will be continuously updated with the latest news and product developments.
It also features a new forum section for agents to give feedback and ask questions from Silversea experts.
The programme features seven training modules covering: An Overview of the Silversea Company; The Ships; Prince Albert II; All Suite Accommodation; Fine Food and Wine; Silversea Lifestyle; and Savings, Added Value and Loyalty Benefits.
Every section gives detailed information about each topic followed by a series of multiple choice questions to finish the module.
Silversea expects most agents to take around an hour to complete the course. Following successful completion they will be sent a certificate which can be displayed at point of sale.
As a launch incentive, the first 20 agents to complete the course will receive a special gift from Silversea.
Agents who complete the training programme will be automatically entered into a prize draw which will give them a chance to win prizes on a monthly basis.
In addition, any agent who makes a Silversea booking within two months of completing the course will have an extra chance of winning anything from a coffee machine to a digital camera, digital radio or a luxury suitcase.
Silversea will randomly select one agent a year out of all those who have completed the online training programme in a Grand Prize Draw for a free cruise for two people.
UK & Ireland managing director Trudy Redfern said: “Silversea is focussed on continuing to support the trade. We believe this is probably the most comprehensive scheme of its kind in the sector which will appeal to the novice and cruise expert equally.
“We hope this latest development in our already comprehensive training programme will make it even easier for every agent to excel in selling luxury cruising and capitalise on the high earning potential of Silversea bookings.”
