Silversea streamlines group booking rewards for agents
Silversea Cruises has unveiled a new group booking rewards program for agents.
The ‘Silver Simplicity’ scheme will replace the group amenity points system (GAP) and is available for all 2014 and 2015 bookings.
There is both a standard voyage reward program and an enhanced scheme for select sailings.
On standard cruises, a tour conductor berth is awarded per nine guests booked in a minimum of five full-fare suites.
A $200 onboard spending credit per suite for voyages of up to nine days and $300 for longer trips.
The enhanced program offers a free cruise berth for every five guests in three full-price suites with a commission bonus also offered to agents.
The cruise line said bookings already made on the GAP points system for departures from July 1 can be later converted to the Silver Simplicity program.
North America senior vice president and general manager Kristian Anderson said the new system is more streamlined and less confusing for agents.
"Instead of dealing with a complicated point system that varies from voyage to voyage, agents can now take advantage of a standard group program offered on all voyages, or an enhanced program available on select sailings," Anderson said.
