Flag carrier Singapore Airlines is boosting capacity on Cairns flights this month.

From 31 March 2024 SIA is deploying Airbus A350-900 widebody aircraft four times a week.

This increases seat capacity to 2,424 per week with 15% in business class to the Tropical North Queensland region.

Tropical North Queensland is noted for its natural beauty and is the only place in the world where two World Heritage sites meet – the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest.

This year sees a number of new property developments, such as The Elandra Mission Beach which has undergone a multi million dollar restoration, luxury outback accommodation Mt. Mulligan Lodge located on a 70,000 acre cattle station, and The Babinda Quarters Art Deco guesthouse.

In addition, Cairns Airport international terminal is undergoing a major A$50 million upgrade with phase one expected to be complete in mid-2024.

Singapore Airlines offers return Cairns flights from £1,099 based on London Heathrow departure via Singapore Changi.

Luxury tailor-made operator cazenove+loyd hass a 10-day trip in Tropical North Queensland from £12,000 per person.

This includes a stay at Silky Oaks eco lodge in the heart of the Daintree Rainforest, and Mt Mulligan Lodge, a luxury outback resort, inclusive of helicopter transfers from Cairns to Mt Mulligan, plus all meals and an extensive range of activities.
