Sir Richard Branson joins Virgin Voyage’s debut in Australia
Virgin founder Sir Richard Branson was on hand to welcome Virgin Voyage’s newest ship, Resilient Lady into Sydney harbour.
Resilient Lady will anchor in Sydney for two nights before travelling to new homeport Melbourne.
Branson cruised alongside with the ship into Circular Quay in a classic wooden speedboat.
Branson also scaled Sydney Harbour Bridge to mark the occasion.
Virgin Voyages’ first Australia cruise departs Melbourne for Tasmania, with calls in Burnie and Hobart.
“We have some incredible destinations lined up for our first Australia cruise season including Sydney, Hobart, Burnie along with ports of call in New Zealand like Auckland, Wellington, Napier and Picton,” said Virgin Voyages CEO, Nirmal Saverimuttu.
Branson recently gifted a whole plane load of passengers with a free Australia cruise.
Around 150 passengers on a Melbourne to Hobart flight received a free voyage to mark the cruise line’s inaugural Aussie cruise to Tasmania
