An avalanche on a marked slope in a Swiss Alps resort has killed a French ski patroller and injured three other people.
A search team with dogs and helicopters continued to search the scene in Crans-Montana overnight after witnesses said others might be buried.
It has now been called off and authorities believe there are no indications of more people being missing.
The avalanche hit the Plaine-Morte, the resorts highest ski slope, on Tuesday afternoon.
It is a busy half term week and it believed that 8,000 people were out on the slopes when the avalanche struck.
Avalanches rarely hit secured slopes in Switzerland and according to the national snow research institute, SLF, only one person had died in such an incident in the past 10 years.
The conditions were sunny and there was no heavy snow.
