Software could see end of hand-written window cards
Call-link has launched software to produce window cards, a valuable marketing tool for selling lates.
Window Card Maker (WCM) enables agents to produce window cards electronically using up-to-date information.
Once installed, the software will leave a WCM icon on the screen, which brings up a search screen when selected. Agents can search by factors such as departure point, destination, duration, or tour operator.
The system displays the 50 most suitable holidays from which agents select the holiday by carrying out a live Viewdata session. If the holiday is not available or the price has changed, it is removed from the selection.
The cards are displayed in groups of three on an A4 sheet that can be displayed in a plastic sleeve in the window. The time the holiday was selected and the staff code for validation appears on each card.
Call-link is marketing WCM for Ilkeston Co-op Travel, which developed the system. Call-link claims that window cards are responsible for attracting 50 percent of customers who book late holidays and flights.
The current procedure for producing window cards using Viewdata can be time-consuming, or the cards are hand-written, and often remain in the window when they are out of date.
Call-link head of marketing, Peter Whittle said: “By using the system several times a day, agents can ensure their window display is vibrant, dynamic and up-to-date. Previously, making window cards was a time-consuming, unwanted job, but now staff will be able to take pride in creating the most attractive window on the high street by simply pressing a few buttons.”
