There is no end to fun activities, sport, music and craft beer this summer on the shoreline.

A comprehensive line-up of events is happening this summer in South Lake Tahoe.

Experience the best in music, sports, history and beer festivals.

This summer offers something for everyone on the shoreline.

The lake level is at the natural rim for the first time in five years.

Tis means lake lovers can swim paddle, SUP, kayak, float, boat, or just relax.

4th July: The nationally recognized “Lights on the Lake” fireworks extravaganza is 20 minutes of bright lights and colors that illuminate the night sky to celebrate Independence Day. It pairs musical sounds of American classics and modern hits choreographed with dazzling pyrotechnics.

 

Sports

The 35th annual American Century Championship, celebrity golf’s most prominent tournament, will take to the fairways of Edgewood Tahoe, July 10-14. Players expected to compete include newcomers Alex Rodriguez, Trevor Lawerence, and Albert Pujols, and Rob McElhenney. They will be joined by longtime favorites Charles Barkley, Tony Romo, and Larry the Cable Guy www.americancenturychampionship.com.

 

The Rock Tahoe Half Marathon, June 15, is a 13.1-mile course which starts at the top of Spooner Summit, elevation 7,146-feet and drops more than 1,000 feet as runners wind down U.S. Highway 50 to the finish line at the Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe. History and live performances

This season the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival, July 28 – Aug. 25 brings the Merry Wives of Windsor, along with Always Patsy Cline, a musical celebration of the country music legend https://visitlaketahoe.com.

 

The 28th annual Valhalla Renaissance Faire transports guests back to 16th-century England with jousting, swordplay, pageantry, ale, food, music and crafts at its new location Tahoe Valley Campground, August 24-25 https://visitlaketahoe.com.

 

Music

Live at Lakeview Summer Music Series returns with free live music, art, local merchants, food vendors, every Thursday night,  June 20 through August 29 at Lakeview Commons, which is 1.5 miles from the Nevada state line https://visitlaketahoe.com.

 

Showroom entertainment at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe includes Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox, August 17; and Pretty Lights, September 6-7 https://www.caesars.com.

 

Local brews

Lake Tahoe Brewfest, in its 7th year, features dozens of regional craft brewers throughout California and Nevada with tastings, live music, arts and craft vendors along Ski Run Boulevard, August 24. The event benefits the Boys and Girls Club of Lake Tahoe. https://visitlaketahoe.com.

 

The 12th annual Tahoe Blue Vodka Bloody Mary Competition will host 15 of the best and creative bartenders in the region for guests to sample and vote on their exquisite creations, August 11 at Tahoe Beach Retreat. Hydration is key, especially at higher elevation and tourism officials encourage guests to Drink Tahoe Tap, 99% pure, with reusable water bottles.

This is one example of what Visit Lake Tahoe along with 19 other partners are implementing with a Destination Stewardship Plan that identifies 32 actions to advance a culture of caring for the greater Lake Tahoe region.
